Hidden Game Mechanics
The Freak Circus uses 4 hidden values that determine your fate. Understanding these is crucial for achieving true endings.
π Pierrot Affection
Requirement for True Ending: β₯80% (or β₯10 points)
Increases when you:
- Show empathy and gentleness toward him
- Listen to his music
- Accept his gifts (tickets, cake)
- Defend him when NPCs speak badly
- Trust and believe in him
Decreases when you:
- Show fear or disgust
- Express desire to return to the outside world
- React too enthusiastically to Harlequin
- Look at Harlequin's reflection in the mirror maze (-5, locks true ending!)
π Harlequin Affection
Requirement for True Ending: β₯12 points
Increases when you:
- Choose bold, sarcastic dialogue options
- Engage in witty banter with him
- Perfect score in knife-throwing minigame
- Show you're "not boring" (moderate chaos)
Decreases when you:
- Choose passive or begging dialogue
- Show weakness, fear, or blandness
- Chaos Level below 20% by Chapter 4
π§ Sanity
Inversely related to Chaos. Low sanity triggers panic events.
β οΈ Important: On Harlequin's route, too HIGH sanity triggers the "boring" bad ending!
π Suspicion (Bad Flags)
Critical Rule: Reaching 5 suspicion = instant death ending, regardless of affection!
Suspicion +1 when you:
- Don't help Bil at entrance
- Choose "Look Bored" in green tent
- Choose "Refuse/Hide" in red tent
- Choose "Scream/Panic/Beg for mercy" in maze (+2)
- Auto +1 per turn when sanity below 50%
π‘ Visual Indicator (Day 2+)
Check character eyes on the main menu: Bright glow = high affection, dim = low affection
Day 1: Initial Survival & Choices
β‘ Most Critical Choice in the Entire Game
When you encounter Pierrot being attacked on the street, choosing "Do Nothing" locks you out of the main story and triggers the Missing Ending. You MUST help him to access all other routes.
Scene-by-Scene Walkthrough

Scene 3: Circus Entrance
